Wiscombe 25th April, Number 162 Mike Mark taking a tight line at sawbench, it looks as though he and Steve (our Vice Chairman Steve Harris) were trying to see who could get their rear wheel all the way round on the curbing.

Points Scoring for DEWS Speed Series

The number of points you score depends on where you finish in the class you have entered at the event, it does not matter whether the competitors who were faster than you had registered for the DEWS Speed Series or not.

One entry in class entered at event                                  Score          10 points
Two entries in class entered at event                               Score 1st:  12 points

             2nd: 10 points
Three or more entries in class entered at event              Score 1st:  15 points

             2nd:  12 points

    3rd:   10 points

            Down to         12th:     1 point

This may not seem fair if you have entered an event where we have our own DEWS Class, but this is our first year and we needed a simple scoring mechanism.  Our intention is to give members the opportunity to enter events, score some points in our speed series and have fun.

At the end of our first season we will review the scoring system and would welcome comments and ideas from those who have participated.

As our members are across the United Kingdom we will include any events in which you have participated and your 5 best scores will count.  All I ask is that you send/e-mail me a copy of your results page within 4 weeks of the event.

Also please check the calendar on the DEWS website www.dewsc.org.uk .  If the clubs listed on our calendar have sent a copy of their regs for events, they will be attached under the relevant date and organising club or a link to the clubs own website. If you do not have the facility to print off or access the internet then I can print and post you a copy.  Any other events you will need to contact the competition secretary for a set of the regs.
